The Wolverines 5th & 6th Grade program is structured to be the second level of youth football for a player. The program is designed to take an athlete from the 3rd & 4th Grade and enhance the fundamentals he was introduced at that level.
However, that is in a perfect world and players don't often play 3rd & 4th grade ball. New players are encouraged and welcomed to come out for the Wolverines as although previous football experience is great but our coaches are experienced with training new players and getting them up to speed.
Our coaches on this level are more advanced and geared towards enhancing a players knowledge of the basic fundamentals while keeping in mind that this is still youth football.
The 5th & 6th Grade coaching staff is headed by Vince Agrusa. A former Baker University and William Jewell College All-American at Defensive Back. Along with Agrusa, other former college players include Jim Turney. Turney
attended Oak Park High School and played offensive line at Northwest Missouri State University. Other notable coaches include assistant coach Joe Giamalva with 10 year youth football experience, 4 year coach Mark Skinner, and 8 year coach Anthony Barreca. Find out more about the 5th & 6th Coaches!
Please take a moment and search the site. We think you will
be impressed at the acknowledgement and rewards a player for the Missouri Wolverines receives each year. The Missouri Wolverines have several special events throughout the year which include the annual Wolverines Awards Banquet where each player receives a recognition trophy from the team.
Also, game summaries are published each week on the website for viewing by players and their families. This also gives a player's relatives who are out of town a chance to read about them. This feature is a big hit with both the players and their parents.
