North Suburban Youth Football League
Sign-Ups

2008 Sign-Ups

The official 2008 sign-up dates for the North Suburban Youth Football League are Saturday August 2nd and Sunday August 3rd from 12:00pm - 3:00pm. Each organization has their own sign-ups at their respective "Home Fields".

NO FEES of any kind are required at sign-ups. The league requires you to pay nothing until a contract has been offered to participate in the North Suburban Youth Football League. At the time final rosters have been set, each player is required to pay a league fee and may have to participate in fundraising which again is similar to other leagues.

If you are new to the league you are probably wondering what are sign-ups for?
The North Suburban Youth Football League limits the number of players each team can carry for a season. Currently there are 4 divisions: Flag, 3rd & 4th Grade, 5th & 6th Grade, and 7th & 8th Grade. Each division has a limit on the team members it can carry: 16 for Flag, 24 for 3rd & 4th (which can include 2nd graders), 28 for 5th & 6th, and 32 for 7th & 8th. With this, a "tryout" situation can occur if a team has an abundance of players coming out (except for the Flag Division which then forms another team for that organization. No Flag Players are cut). Now all players will have a spot in the league, however it is important to "Sign-Up" for the team you wish to play for so that you are guarranteed a chance to make that respective team. New league rules have limited the number of tryout days a team is allowed so it is important to come get all your paperwork filled out before practices start. Those players who miss sign-ups and come out to practice late will be behind the others and will jeapordize a potential spot on the team.

Nevertheless, if you decide that the North Suburban Youth Football League is not the league for you we encourage you to still play youth football. We feel a child benefits greatly from participating in a team sport like football and our number one goal is to help kids. So it is not where you play but more importantly that you take advantage of the fun, confidence, and respect a child can gain from playing youth football.
